What TV (Samsung) Remote Control is

Just like your original TV remote, this Google Android remote control doesn’t come with a lot of bells and whistles. One thing I absolutely love about this remote is the fact that you do not have to pair it with your TV. As long as your device has a built-in infrared blaster, the remote will work just fine when you direct it  toward your TV screen.

When I first heard of this Google Play app for controlling Samsung TVs, I was very skeptical. I did not understand how a smartphone app would help me manage different things on my TV without being connected in any way. I have to say I was blown away when I saw all the controls on the remote control app. You can do just about anything with the app from changing channels to increasing the volume and navigating different features of your Samsung TV. The score is 8.5/10.

The app has a self-explanatory interface. Everything is clearly labeled and well-organized for easy access. In addition, it has controls that are similar to what you’d expect to see in your original remote. You really don’t need a tutorial on how to use this app if you already own a Samsung TV remote.

The app’s appearance looks like a typical Samsung TV remote. So, if you are using Samsung TV and you can’t find your remote, TV (Samsung) Remote Control will definitely work for you as you will be familiar with the buttons.

Overall, the interface doesn’t look pretty, but beauty isn’t needed here. It’s just a simple app for changing channels, pausing, rewinding, and so on. The stylish design and an ability to change themes would be a cool bonus, though. I rate this option 8 out of 10.

Performance and Usability

If you have something to say about this app and make own review – write me.

TV (Samsung) Remote Control is a free app, and it doesn’t have any in-app purchases. You will notice a few ads once in a while, but these do not interfere with what you are doing. When it comes to performance, the app is excellent. It responds well and easily connects to your TV without any hassle. However, if your phone has a low battery or it is in power saving mode, you will not be able to use the app. Nonetheless, this is something you can easily overcome. The other problem I had with the app is the fact that it was prone to crashing. Luckily, this is not something you will have to worry about in the latest version since the developers dealt with the issue when they updated the app. My mark is 9.5/10.

Cross-Platform Use

TV (Samsung) Remote Control is compatible only with Android devices and can replace only Samsung Smart TV’s original remotes. The app requires the Android version 4.4 and up. My mark is 6/10.

The Verdict

I don’t know what I would do without this remote control app. It has come in handy in emergency situations, and I really love using it for my TV. If you own a Samsung Smart TV, this is a must-have app. It has excellent performance; it is easy to use and free of charge. Get this leading app on Google Play Store.
